Repeat Sessions
To achieve a permanently smooth beardline, multiple sessions are required. These are typically spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, targeting hair follicles during their active growth cycle for maximum effectiveness.
Full Back Protocol
- Shave the Area: Ensure the entire back is shaved 24 hours before your appointment. As this is a hard-to-reach area, we recommend asking a partner for help to ensure a smooth, nick-free surface.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Do not expose your back to direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior. Tanned skin increases the risk of side effects from the laser.
- Skip Lotions & Creams: Arrive with clean, product-free skin. Avoid applying body lotions, oils, or cologne to your back on the day of treatment.
- Hydrate Well: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Well-hydrated skin responds better to laser energy and heals faster.
- Wear Loose Clothing: Choose a loose, cotton shirt to wear to your appointment. Tight synthetic fabrics can rub against the treated skin and cause irritation immediately after the session.
- Keep it Cool: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and steam rooms for 48 hours. Heat can aggravate the hair follicles and lead to redness or bumps.
- Sun Protection: If your back will be exposed to the sun (e.g., swimming), apply SPF 50+ generously. Treated skin is highly sensitive to UV rays.
- Soothe & Moisturize: Apply 100% Aloe Vera gel to calm any redness or heat sensation. Keep the skin moisturized with a fragrance-free lotion to aid healing.
- Avoid Friction: Refrain from carrying heavy backpacks or wearing tight gym gear for 24-48 hours. Friction can cause irritation and potential breakouts on the treated area.
- Gentle Exfoliation: Wait 1 week before exfoliating. After 7 days, use a gentle loofah or scrub to help the dead hair shed from the follicles and prevent ingrown hairs.
- While you'll still need haircuts, laser hair removal on the neckline keeps that "fresh cut" look for much longer.
