What to Expect
Common questions answered. Here is your journey to rejuvenated skin with Rose Hill Aesthetics.
Prioritizing Comfort
Is it painful? We apply a professional-grade topical numbing cream before starting. You may feel a slight vibration or "sandpaper" sensation, but it is generally very tolerable.
Immediate Downtime
What happens after? Your skin may look red (similar to a mild sunburn) for 24 hours. Mild pinkness can persist up to 48 hours, but most clients resume normal activities the next day.
Recommended Course
How many sessions? A course of 3 to 6 sessions, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, is typically recommended to see optimal improvement in scarring and skin texture.
PRP Combination
Can I combine with PRP? Yes, this is highly recommended (often called the ‘Vampire Facial’). PRP delivers growth factors directly into the micro-channels for enhanced results.
Collagen Induction Protocol
Optimizing dermal remodeling & micro-channel healing
Active Ingredient Hiatus:
Discontinue all Retinoids (Tretinoin/Retinol), Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic Acid), and Beta Hydroxy Acids (Salicylic Acid) for 5 days prior. This ensures the skin is not over-sensitized before the clinical needling process.
Inflammatory Control:
The treatment area must be free of active inflammatory acne, cold sores, or open lesions. If you are prone to herpes simplex (cold sores), we recommend a prophylactic anti-viral course starting 2 days before treatment.
Blood-Thinning Restriction:
To minimize the risk of pinpoint bruising and petechiae, avoid blood-thinning agents such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and alcohol for 48 hours. Ensure you are well-hydrated to support immediate post-treatment healing.
Sun Sensitivity Awareness:
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 2 weeks prior. We cannot perform microneedling on skin that exhibits active sun-stress or sunburn, as the inflammatory response would be too aggressive.
The 24-Hour Sterile Window:
Your micro-channels remain open for up to 24 hours. Do not apply makeup, standard skincare, or sunscreen during this time. Use only the medical-grade recovery serums provided by our specialists to prevent infection.
Thermal & Metabolic Rest:
Avoid high-intensity exercise, saunas, steam rooms, and hot showers for 48 hours. Sweating can introduce bacteria into the micro-channels and exacerbate localized erythema (redness) and swelling.
UV Shielding Protocol:
Once the 24-hour window has passed, strict SPF 50 application is mandatory. Your skin is temporarily more vulnerable to hyperpigmentation. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 7 days post-treatment.
Dermal Recovery Phase:
You may experience redness and a "sandpaper" texture for 3–5 days. Do not pick or exfoliate the skin; let the natural shedding process occur. Wait 1 week before re-introducing active acids or Retinol into your regimen.
