HydraFacial Clinical Protocol
Maximizing Vortex-Extraction & Hydration results
Exfoliation Hiatus:
The HydraFacial includes a clinical-grade chemical peel step. Please discontinue the use of Retinol, Tretinoin, or any AHAs/BHAs (Glycolic or Salicylic acids) for at least 3–5 days prior to your treatment to prevent over-sensitizing the skin.
Surface Sensitivity:
Avoid facial waxing, threading, or laser hair removal in the treatment area for at least 1 week. The skin must be calm and the barrier intact to handle the vortex-suction and exfoliation process effectively.
Men's Shaving Guidance:
For male clients, we recommend not shaving the face on the day of the treatment. Shaving can create micro-abrasions that may sting during the peel phase. Shaving 24 hours prior is ideal.
Infection & Contraindications:
If you have an active cold sore, severe cystic acne, or a sunburn, please reschedule. Additionally, please notify us of any allergies to shellfish or aspirin, as some HydraFacial serums contain ingredients related to these.
The Post-Glow Window:
Avoid applying makeup for at least 6–12 hours. Your pores are deeply cleansed and primed with antioxidants; allow these clinical serums to fully penetrate and work without the interference of heavy foundations.
UV Protection Mandate:
Freshly exfoliated skin is highly susceptible to sun damage. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily. Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 72 hours post-treatment.
Temperature & Activity:
Refrain from strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot tubs for 24 hours. The heat and sweat can cause vasodilation, which may lead to irritation or a diminished "glow" effect as the serums are pushed out of the skin.
Skincare Resumption:
Focus on simple hydration for the next 48 hours. Wait at least 3–5 days before re-introducing active acids or Retinol products into your routine. Always use a clean pillowcase to maintain the sterility of your refreshed complexion.
